A 30 year veteran adviser to the hospital, provider sponsored health plan, managed physician network, and affiliate managed care joint ventures. Masters served in senior executive positions for flagship national and regional health care concerns, both for profit and non-profit systems, including academic medical centers and community hospitals. In 2008 he turned his attention to the emerging market of web 2.0 and the promise of interactive digital media to transform an ‘ailing’ sick care system via interactive digital tools which more specifically include: Twitter, blogs, podcasting, video streaming, community management, and a steady supply of ‘mhealth’ applications.

Richard G. Just, MD, Chief Medical Officer

The Executive Medical Editor of, co-producer and co-founder of, Dr Just is a Diplomate in the American Boards of Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology.

In addition to his prolific participation in social media, Dr. Just also practices Medical Oncology and Hematology in the Inland North County of San Diego. He has received numerous awards and honors, but values most his personal interaction with patients and their families.

Since launching and the Internet radio show ‘This Week in Oncology’ Dr. Just’s work has been syndicated by many ‘go to’ medical blogs including, and ACP Internist, in addition to feature articles in Oncology Times, ‘Profiles in Oncology Social Media‘ series, ASCO and ONClive. A regular contributor to Twitter via the handle @Chemosabe1, Dr. Just shares his wisdom and insights freely and openly with the community at large.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Just attended the University of Michigan for pre-med education and received a B.S. in Zoology. It was in Ann Arbor where he met and then married DeeDee, his wife of 47 years. He returned to Chicago to attend the The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, followed by internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA/Wadsworth VA. He was Chief Resident in Medicine his last year. Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology was completed at UCSD/La Jolla VA in 1975, and he’s lived and practiced in the Escondido-Poway area ever since.

Dr. Just has Chaired the Investigational Review Committee at Palomar Health System for 24 years. In addition to authoring several publications, Dr. Just has participated in numerous clinical trials as Principal Investigator or Sub-investigator.  He has expanded his research interests as the Medical Director of the Research Institute at Palomar Health System. But his favorite activity is walking with his dog, Simon, the Labradoodle.

The Just’s have two children and three grandchildren. Dee Dee has an active practice in psychotherapy with emphasis in psycho-oncology, bereavement and relationship therapy. She is also a trained hypnotherapist and Tai Chi instructor and enjoys Taiko drumming

Alan Harris, Director

Commercial real estate developer, artist and business development consultant. Harris brings a seasoned creative background as commercial photographer, film director and founder of marketing design firm Wave Communications with offices in New York and Los Angeles. Harris applies his creative busy savvy and successes in real estate development and consulting to XanateMedia client engagements. A Mill Valley resident in Marin County California following 7 years on the island of Kauai in Hawaii, he assures the ‘aloha spirit’ is reflected in all client engagements. As ‘chief partner or channel development officer’, he brings a unique blend of artistic endeavors, and business affairs insight to XanateMedia client needs or problem solving challenges.

Lon Levin, Chief Creative Officer

An award-winning designer, art director, illustrator, writer and photographer with over twenty five years in the arts and entertainment industry. Lon Levin’s creative talent has been honored via forty awards for advertising campaigns, illustrations and design work including seven Gold and Silver Promax awards for excellence in TV advertising. He supports all creative engagements for XanateMedia, and executive produces select portfolio properties including the Illustrators Journal, a go-to blog for artists and illustrators, publishes the popular quarterly online edition of Illustrators Journal, and co-hosts ‘This Week in Digital Media‘ on the BlogTalk Radio Network.

Levin’s illustrated thirty (33) published Children’s and ‘How-to’ books. Most recently he served as President of BTS Communications, a design firm that services the non-profit world and mentors recovering artists in sobriety by teaching them skills that will help them obtain new jobs. Over the year he was contracted to help BTS he increased business by 300% and helped mentor 10 artists who later found positions at various agencies. His definitive book, Treehouses‘ for Globe Pequot Press was published in 2010, and included three hundred (300) of his photographs. His most recent photographic endeavor is a heart warming and inciteful project titled ‘Park Dogs ” . The book is a non-profit endeavor designed to help raise money for the “Art For Barks” organization. He is teaming up with well-known dog behaviorist Linda Michaels, a partner of the renown dog trainer Victoria Stillwell.

Levin’s experience in the arts and entertainment industry spans the board room to the dark room and all points in between including solo efforts to project team deliverables. He’s worked in senior corporate capacities for Sony, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox and Saban Entertainment including internet and digital media pioneer Rare Medium Group. Levin’s creative engagements include projects with some of the biggest names in the entertainment space including Michael Douglas, Robert Zemeckis, Barry Diller, Tom Hanks, and Gene Hackman.

A BFA graduate of the Art Center, College of Design (post graduate), and UCLA, Levin has two dogs named Atticus and April, and he likes to surf too!
